Twenty five things about me
I think one of the best ways to get to know someone is to have them put pen to paper and reveal random things about themselves. If you have stuck with me thus far, I thought that I would share a little about me so that we could get better acquainted . Here are twenty five things about me
I’m a hopeless romantic. I believe that there is someone for everyone….problem is most of the time, they never meet.
I love to travel, but I detest cruising….on the seas, that is. Get your mind out of the gutter! lol
I have three cats, but secretly crave the companionship of a sweet welsh corgi.
I love my job and I realize how blessed I am that I have one when so many do not.
My daughter is a web/graphic designer who designed my relatively new travel blog www.aviewtoathrill.net.
/end shamless self-promotion
Two years ago was the first time that I tried to grow roses, now I have about 30 to fret over. Here’s a tip for fertilizing….sprinkle alfalfa pellets around the base in late winter for the most beautiful blooms ever!
I have four brothers and five sisters, so you can imagine what my childhood was like. lol
My favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption and as a result, I plan to visit Zihuatanejo…..soon.
My favorite candy is peppermint coated tootsie roll pops.
This year, I will finish my outdoor table project: A waterlily pond tabletop made of stained glass.
I’m a much calmer person since I’ve started taking the express bus to work and no longer have to subject myself to a 60 mile commute in Atlanta traffic. It’s amazing how one bus pass potentially saved me thousands in therapy bills.
I do not attend church; I was raised in a pentecostal church which effectively killed any further desire to fellowship with christians. Thankfully, they have not shaken my faith in God.
I can’t travel without bringing home the following souvenirs: a shot glass, a magnet, a keychain, a plate, liquor from that region and bumpersticker. Only God knows why…..
I wish that someone would convince the powers that be to finally bring the short-lived 80′s show, ‘Rags to Riches’ to dvd.
I am an extrovert desperately trying to get out of the body of a long time introvert.
I have few true-blue friends and would love to have more.
I have a thing for French and Italian men…..maybe it’s the accent?
I learned early not to lie about what I do for a living. When I was 19, a new boyfriend surprised me by showing up at my place of employment. It was a high end, upscale Italian restaurant where I worked as a ‘member of the waitstaff’. When he asked a co-worker where the waitress named Renee was, she promptly told him, no honey, Renee’s a dishwasher.
Thanks to HGTV, I know how to change the p-trap under my sink.
My two favorite artists are Alfons Mucha and Claude Monet.
Few things make me happier than sitting on my front porch in my white oversized rocking chair listening to birds sing on a Spring day while drinking a cup of java.
I was a comic book junkie as a child. My faves were the Archie gang, Superman/Justice League, Green Lantern, the Fantastic Four, Batman/Robin, Spiderman and many others. To wit, my personal plea to Hollywood: “Not everything translates on film…..especially superheroes….so quit it! Thanks!â€
I was born with a cleft palate and a harelip and both have been instrumental in helping me deal with the general ignorance and rudeness of others.
I don’t curse as much as I used to. Ironically, this change coincides with the initial purchase of my bus pass.
I’m 51 and I still feel as hopeful as my 20 year old self…..the only thing that ages is the body, not our aspirations.

Keep your aspirations burning. Gr8 place this is. Hope to read your posts more frequently. Best.
Thanks, Neeraj! I appreciate the encouragement and will continue to follow my inner voice. Please visit again!
I really liked this post. I learned a lot about you. You are a comedian too. You should add that one. I like the one about the bus saving your life and stopped you from cursing. I feel you on that one.
Thanks, Destiny!
I guess I do have a wicked sense of humor!

Hey Renee
